History

Joe Helbling bought Howlett's Tavern in 1993. After a very successful 13 years at the old location, he decided to sell the building and try a different career path. But in doing so, he realized that the restaurant business was all he enjoyed doing. After a 3 year hiatus, Joe has reopened Howlett's Tavern in the heart of Chester. We are looking forward to serving the Chester community for many years to come.

Howlett's is famous in the area for it's great food and cozy atmosphere. Local favorites are prime rib, crabcakes, fresh seafood and great steaks. Howlett's also has an extensive lunch menu and made from scratch desserts. A full bar, great staff and a non-smoking environment all come together to make this a really special place!
